David Lee Ham, Jr. is a multilingual, well-traveled litigator, trial lawyer, and appellate advocate with diverse experience in a variety of practice areas.  He is a member of the American Association for Justice, formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers’ Association.  He completed law school in December 2001, earning a Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School in Jacksonville, Florida.  His legal studies included studies abroad at Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia; Durham University in Durham, England; and the University of São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil.  During his studies abroad, he worked as a legal intern in an elite international business law firm in São Paulo, Bekin & Gennari Advogados, Ltd.  He is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, and conversant in several other languages including Modern Greek and Russian. His love of people and cultures has led Mr. Ham to travel and involve himself with people around the world, which supports his international immigration practice.


Mr. Ham previously served as an attorney in the Office of the Public Defender of the 19th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Fort Pierce, vigorously defending the rights of indigent clients in criminal trials, and as a senior attorney in Child Welfare Legal Services of the Florida Department of Children and Families in Vero Beach and Okeechobee, Florida.  Mr. Ham currently serves as a volunteer member of the Family Selection Committee of the Clay County Habitat for Humanity and also volunteers with Children’s Homes Society’s Community Partnership School at Wilkerson Junior High in Middleburg, Florida.  Mr. Ham is also a Realtor Member of Elevate Excel Realty, LLC in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida, and an active member of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors.  Mr. Ham was first admitted to the Florida Bar in December of 2002 and readmitted in December of 2022, after having been inactive while serving as a school teacher and working in the business world.
